May 31st, invite for a dojo.beer() in Berlin

This coming Saturday, 31st of may, everyone who is in or near Berlin, or has a chance to travel to Berlin, is invited to join the first (hopefully at least annual) dojo.beer().

This will give everyone a chance to get to know each other, see and hang out in Berlin and hopefully find some good time to talk dojo.

We'll meet at 15:00 at the Weltzeituhr, move over to a nice Spanish restaurant at 19:00 and for the ones who like, we will attack the Berlin clubs right after that.

Announcing: Zend Framework integration of Dojo 1.x

Today marks a very exciting milestone for two great Open Source Products: The Zend Framework and The Dojo Toolkit. Zend aims to provide out-of-the box Ajax functionality capable of communicating directly with the Framework, and Dojo aims to provide the solution.

Announcing Dojo 1.1.1

The latest Dojo release includes critical but low-risk patches to version 1.1.0, plus localizations to bring the list of languages supported by Dojo to 22.

JavaOne dojo.beer or dojo.dinner

We're planning to have either dojo.dinner or dojo.beer after Alex and Joe's BOF Wednesday May 7th at JavaOne in San Francisco. Please send email to rsvp *at* dojotoolkit dot org if you want to join us. The BOF is finished at 7:30, so we'll start around then.

Dojo Twitter feed

After a few weeks of trying to find out who owned the twitter user dojo, I've given up, and registered dojotoolkit. So, if you want to follow along with Dojo on twitter, follow http://twitter.com/dojotoolkit

Dojo 1.1 Released

The moment has arrived. I've been anticipating this since the first new fixes to trunk were made, shortly after the 1.0 release. I am proud -- no, elated -- to announce what marks another solid run of around-the-clock development: The Dojo Toolkit version 1.1

4th Annual Dojo Salt Lick

For the 4th straight year, we'll be heading to the Salt Lick on Sunday night (8pm) at SXSW, this year on March 9. If you are interested in attending this year, please RSVP to rsvp *at- dojotoolkit *dot* org by March 2. Let us know if you have a car and can drive others, or if you need a ride, and we'll make sure everyone can get there.

New dojox.widget.Rating widget and even more innovation with gfx!

Just after Wolfram landed his new Rating widget in DojoX, I read about Tobi's extension to this widget that uses dojo.gfx! It's a testimony not just to Wolfram's clean implementation, but also to the reusability of the Dojo architecture and the widget system in particular. Nice work, guys!

Dojo and Grails

Work is being done by Pratik Patel to integrate Dojo with Grails:
"I've been working on integrating Grails and the recently released Dojo 1.0.2. I'm particularly interested in the Dijit components that are now part of Dojo. It seems like a clean, easy way to get some AJAX widgetry into a web application. Grails comes with plugins for common AJAX frameworks - YUI, Dojo 0.4.2(?), and Prototype. Someone's even released a nifty AJAX "dummies" plugin called richUI."

Dojo Toolkit 1.0.2 is available

This is a bug fix release and is fully API compatible with 1.0 and 1.0.1. The download is available at http://download.dojotoolkit.org/release-1.0.2/ The change log can be found at http://trac.dojotoolkit.org/milestone/1.0.2
